The Corrente Fraterna, created by classmates from the EWRS Class of 1986 B (Escola Waldorf Rudolf Steiner) has been supporting this dear friend, with the purpose of removing an obstacle and allowing his life to move forward.
When we learned about our friend's situation, who lives in Blumenau, we quickly mobilized to help him, as he was facing an extremely serious and fragile social situation. This 40‑year bond, regardless of the country where each of us lives, was strongly rekindled.
Carlos Barg, also affectionately known as “Truck” because his childhood dream was to become a truck driver—a dream he fulfilled in adulthood—suffered a serious accident several years ago. This marked the beginning of a profound change in his life, radically transforming his social situation. Among several lasting effects, he fractured his pelvis, which gradually worsened his mobility and, as a result, he was no longer able to work. Consequently, his social circumstances deteriorated.
Given this situation, our group organized a support network and has been providing for basic daily living and health needs, making it possible for Carlos to have better conditions and regain self‑confidence.
However, the main challenge still remains: correcting the pelvic injury, which prevents him from walking long distances and causes pain that has spread to other parts of his body.
Attempts at treatment and a possible surgery through the public health system (SUS) have dragged on for years, preventing improvement in both his severe pain and overall condition. His lack of mobility even makes it difficult for him to climb stairs.
For this reason, we decided to organize this raffle to provide him with the necessary medical treatment for his pelvis as quickly as possible.
